XTM is a tool for controlling networked computer-joints (for example aligner control units), as well as visualisation and modification of their inner states. Furthermore xtm enables the user to visualize and analyse the communication between the computer-joints. Also, missing computer-joints can be replaced by simulating their network behaviour. Besides, the existing communication between the network-joints can be influenced or replaced. Currently supported networks are CAN, LIN and Ethernet (UDP). Furthermore, the serial interface of the PC and the K-conductor (diagnosis in cars) can be used for communication with an external computer-joint.
The following figure shows an example of the graphical user interface during an experiment. The video of a front view camera and some vehicle dynamics data are displayed in real time.
