Dikablis Head-Unit

We offer the Dikablis eye-tracking system in the versions Dikablis Cable, Dikablis Wireless and Dikablis Wireless Digital. The configuration and the camera system of the light and comfortable Head Unit are identical for each system.

In case of Dikablis Cable and Dikablis Wireless Digital the Head Unit consists of identical components. In the case of Dikablis Wireless the Head Unit additionally includes the analogue transmitters.

Due to many iterative construction optimizations the Head Unit was brought to perfection. Based on our long lasting experience in eye-tracking the significant characteristics for head based look detection could be found. Apart from the user also the test person benefits from the optimizations. Especially the wearing comfort and the weight optimization are in the foreground. The wearing comfort is realized through the high quality nose-clip (nose rest) and the flexible comfort band. With the band you can fix the Head Unit to the test person’s head. The weight of the Head Unit diversifies between 80 and 100g.

The eye is infrared illuminated so that perturbations caused through sunlight become very little. Strong fluctuations of the ambient light do not affect the detection of the pupils. The two cameras, the infrared illumination and the fit of the Head Unit can be adjusted individually for the test person. Through bolted connections that can easily be loosened the Head Unit can be adjusted for almost every anatomical specification. Even the wearer of glasses can use the system easily. Another advantage of the specifically developed glasses is that the field of view of the focus camera can be adjusted to the different test requirements by an easy change of the objective. Therefore there are different objectives with focal widths between 4.3mm (approx. 55° field of view; e.g. analysing work on a PC) and 2.1mm (approx. 115° field of view; e.g. experiments inside of a vehicle).

In the case of Dikablis Wireless, supply the Head Unit with the provided rechargeable-battery-pack, the 230V electricity network or the cigarette lighter of a car. In the case of Dikablis Cable you supply the Head Unit via the USB port of the recording laptop or a special control box. In case of Dikablis Wireless Digital you supply the Head Unit either with the cigarette lighter of a car or a special high quality rechargeable-battery. If it is connected directly to the recording PC, you can also supply it via the USB port.
